Early screenshots of Snow Go (7)

Ok, I'm alive, it's official. More screenshots to present, though unfortuantely not too much is shown today.


Crash: Can I go home now?
That bouncy box will not be enough to clear those Nitro crates...

Fun fact: That TNT has a short fuse and explodes after 1.

If I were that seal, I would not be skating there.
How can he do that without detonating them? So jealous.

A video is worth a thousand pictures

And I really was considering creating a thousand pictures to make one huge panoramic view of the Snow Go death route so I could show off the whole thing, but that proved impractical almost immediately, so I decided that a video is surely a much better method!

Early screenshots of Snow Go (6)

Hello again! Still hard at work and here's some new progress for you!

At long last, minus a couple of errors that I'll be correcting soon, the red gem area of Snow Go is now completed. Here's the final screenshots from inside of the route, along with one screenshot of back on the main level in the 3D sections.


This formation of boxes... what could it possibly mean?!

Introducing the Nitro bridge! Complete with penguins that spin and spin
forever, allowing you to cross as long as you aim carefully...

I think we have a problem... now, where do you plan to hide from this?

Somewhere outside, Crash is observing some awfully positioned crates.
Hint: Jumping isn't the only way to clear holes.

And finally, a random shrine dedicated to Sword0fSeals, who, in spite of
his name, adores penguins. Aren't they cute? They'll kill you.

So, the next task on the agenda is all of the 3D areas (which are proving... interesting, you might say...) and the other parts of the main level not yet shown. That's still a lot of work. But we're getting somewhere! Currently this level has more than 250 breakable boxes. I can't think that number is going to decrease any time soon either, so get ready for a lot of crate abuse when this is finally done.

Early screenshots of Snow Go (5)

The show must go on!

So, you know how I said my time had cleared up? It really hadn't at all. No sooner had I said it did I get myself dragged headlong into a totally different project; one that is still ongoing. However, I got back to Crash 2 recently, and am continuing level design despite the fact that we still have issues with cloning objects and whatnot...

So, new screenshots. More of the red gem route, no less!


A whole stash of goodies! But they're a little high up...

How about asking this penguin politely to loan you its head?
...And even if you do, is it really all that simple?

I will make you work for your box gem. Or, you know, even just to survive.

Standard annoying puzzle type A. At least you get a life out of it.

Did I really just go there? Why yes I did.

It is worth noting that in the final screenshot, the TNT are currently drawn incorrectly; that shall be fixed in time. The screenshot implies the edge two TNTs are further forwards than the others; that is not the case, they are simply slightly lower.

There WILL be more to come soon as I continue to build the level and as soon as it is ready... this one level will be made available for playtesting. Hope you guys look forwards to it :P

Video, Video~

So, it's been way too long since my last post! And I'm pleased to say that my time has now cleared up and I can resume the modding effort of Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back.

To celebrate this, here is a video showing off some of the screenshots you have seen so far in action :)

Slow progress

I must apologise for the lack of updates of recent. Unfortunately, my time is being consumed by more projects than I suspected it would be; as such this one's progress has had to take a hit.

The next updates may be some time next month, or if I get anything done in the meantime, I'll make a post about it. Sorry about all of the delays...

Early screenshots of Snow Go (4)

The problem with the infinitely spawning items is still not resolved, but I decided to continue level design nevertheless. Coming up over the next few days I must do university work, so this may be the only update until around Friday at the earliest.

If you manage to do the entire death route backwards,
this little den of safety awaits.


The red gem has a new home... and explosive bodyguards.

No, I have no idea where I'm going with this. This is very
much subject to change.

That third screenshot obviously took the longest to set up and currently requires 3D jumping to score all of the boxes. I doubt it'll make the final build of the level in its current form.
